“Local green electrons must exceed 50% of consumption” — Eric Reisse in TECSOL
Eric Reisse explains why energy is now AI's main constraint, and how co-location secures long-term revenue for renewable producers.
In an interview with TECSOL, CloudGrid Energy co-founder and CEO Eric Reisse details the company's model: deploying GPU computing directly on renewable energy sites rather than bringing renewable power to distant data centres.
Energy availability, he explains, has become the primary constraint for artificial intelligence. Co-locating compute with generation gives renewable producers long-term revenue security, over 10 to 20 years, at levels above spot market prices.
The interview also addresses European digital sovereignty and CloudGrid Energy's commitment that local green electrons must always exceed 50% of the GPUs' consumption.
