The Container
A Policloud unit is a complete high-performance computing module: GPUs, CPUs, storage, waterless cooling and ultra-high-speed connectivity, factory-built into a shipping container and installed on a renewable site in under five months.
Two formats
20 ft container
The standard unit, sized for a single renewable site or EV charging hub.
40 ft container
High-density unit for larger plants, drawing up to 450 kW of electrical power.
Design
Traditional data centres take years of construction, large plots of land and new grid capacity. A Policloud unit is designed around the constraints of an energy site.
Capacity scales gradually, unit by unit. A container can be maintained locally and moved if a site evolves.
A unit needs very little space, which reduces land costs and permitting complexity compared with a traditional data centre.
No water consumption for cooling, and an operating range from −40 °C to +45 °C.
Every unit is interconnected with Poligrid, the distributed network that links all Policloud units, and run with the orchestration software of Antimatter, the group behind Policloud and Hivenet.
Workloads
Inference is expected to represent around two-thirds of AI compute demand in 2026. Distributed close to energy and users, Policloud units deliver measurable gains in latency, resilience and operating costs compared with traditional hyperscale architectures.
“European digital sovereignty is not declared — it is built site by site. With CloudGrid Energy, we are deploying distributed computing infrastructure where renewable energy is produced and connected — locally and efficiently.”
